Vision

When parents, grandparents, guardians, or others think of where to choose for their child’s learning & care, there isn’t a doubt that Just Like GRAMMY & POPPOP’s is their first choice knowing that their memories will bring smiles long after they graduate.

Team members join Just Like GRAMMY & POPPOP’s  because they have heard about the dedicated team members making a difference in children’s lives. They stay because they want to and even recommend it as a terrific place to work.

Mission

Just Like GRAMMY & POPPOP’s  is a place where you can feel great about the time children spend here. They are welcomed each and every day (how they want to be welcomed). They are being nurtured and are learning throughout their time at the school from infants through preschool and even beyond when they come back for summer camp and getting training to be a camp counselor!

They are encouraged to learn through play at their own pace and make choices about what they venture into with many different options that are provided.

Teachers are available to guide and help direct when needed, finding them right alongside the littles.

Early in my working years, I opened “Kim’s Kid Korner” in my home and they were some of the best memories having many littles come through the door. It broke my heart when some would cry when it was time to go home. From there, I worked in a Nazarene Preschool teaching 3 year olds and all ages in Gym and Library. My next venture was owning my own business teaching technology to small businesses. Moving from Pennsylvania to Wisconsin was next after being recruited by a well known insurance & investment company here. I worked there from 2014-2024 and am overjoyed to be back in the early child hood space. If I’ve seen you out and about, I probably looked over with a big smile noticing your little one. As seen in the picture, I like to have fun in all that I do!  Kim Salmons

 

 

I grew up as the youngest of 9 children with tons of nieces and nephews. As you can imagine, with a family of that size there were always people around and there were always kids looking to have fun or for someone to play with.  I’m pretty sure that’s where the ability to care for little ones was learned without my even knowing it.  Fast forward to today and I have 6 children, two grandchildren and a third on the way.

I originally grew up in Southeastern Pennsylvania, move to New York for 20 years and have now settled in Wisconsin with the family.  My professional career over the past 35 years has comprised of various leadership positions in Technology and Support with companies such as Thomson Reuters, Oracle and Northwestern Mutual.  I’m hoping I can translate some of that experience into creating a state-of-the-art Early Learning Center where all children can thrive.
