Associate Teacher
Who would make a great fit as an ASSOCIATE TEACHER?
Responsible for the care and supervision of children and assisting the teacher guide learning and development with age appropriate activities, if you excel at being an assistant teacher you are filled with patience and compassion. Contributing towards the creative and fun atmosphere at jlgap our hope is that you have a desire to continue to help make our center the best. The best place to leave your child to learn through play; the best place as a child to spend your days; and the best place to work in all ways!
We are also hiring floater and substitute team member Associate Teachers!
Teacher
Who would make a great fit as a TEACHER?
Ideally, you enjoy the company of wide-open and innocent little minds that you can impact and fill with nurturing care and guidance while encouraging them to explore and discover. You will be accountable for providing age-appropriate education and play. This can be both empowering and overwhelming so we have plenty of templates, curriculum, supplies… and team members to help! As a teacher licensed by the state of Wisconsin, you will have a classroom where you can bring your experience and expertise to create a welcome, safe environment for children to learn and grow. We believe in a flexible, structured day of activities always being led by the child.
Other responsibilities:
- Classroom organization to allow for children to move around easily and locate (and put away) supplies
- Nurturing care and communicating based on each child’s needs
- Collaboration with other team members
- Provide parents with updates
- Lesson planning (structure with flexibility) based on themes and WI Early Learning Standards
- Varying activities: fine motor skills, art, music, math, science, etc. all age appropriate
- Keeping safety at top-of-mind always and advocating for the physical and emotional safety of all
- Following sanitation procedures for surfaces including toys and supplies
We are also hiring team members to float and substitute to join our team!
Lead Meal Maker
Creativity is the starting point when you develop the meals for the month including breakfast, lunch and snacks for each day. Ensuring the safety in food handling and nutrition requirements are the main responsibilities. The Lead Meal Maker will also confirm the portions are appropriate for each age group and served to each classroom with additional portions available upon request.
We are also hiring on-call Meal Makers to join our team!
Floater Positions
Who would make a great fit as a Floating Teacher?
Ideally, you enjoy the company of wide-open and innocent little minds that you can impact and fill with nurturing care and guidance while encouraging them to explore and discover. Doing the same thing every single day probably isn’t your preference, you like to change it up and bring variety to your day. This person will be qualified and desire to take on responsibilities from a lead teacher, teacher, or others. You might cover a classroom to offer a teacher a break or host a break-out music class in the common area for anyone who would like to participate. (Likely, that was something that you were able to implement after suggesting it to the team).
Who would make a great fit as an ASSOCIATE FLOATING TEACHER?
Doing the same thing every single day probably isn’t your preference, you like to change it up and bring variety to your day. This person will be qualified and desire to take on responsibilities from an associate teacher, meal maker, or others. Responsible for the care and supervision of children and assisting the teacher guide learning and development with age appropriate activities, if you excel at being an assistant teacher you are filled with patience and compassion. Contributing towards the creative and fun atmosphere at jlgap our hope is that you have a desire to continue to help make our center the best. What is this SUBSTITUTE “ON CALL” TEAM?
We would love to get to know you better and if we have a mutual interest, keep your contact information available as well as your desired availability to be “on call” .
We need ON CALL team members for Teaching, Associate Teaching, Meal Making, Custodial, Office, and Volunteers.
You must meet the qualifications for the position you wish to substitute for and have completed Just Like GRAMMY & POPPOP’S onboarding & training.
Volunteer Positions
Who would make a great fit as a Volunteer?
Volunteering at Just Like GRAMMY & POPPOP’S doesn’t get you out of training – we want our volunteers to be trained on our policies and procedures to keep everyone safe. We have a variety of options for volunteers and feel free to suggest some we haven’t thought of!
Some options include:
- Story time: reading or telling stories
- Music time: singing songs or playing your instrument
- Outdoor play: helping prepare and play outdoors
- Classroom help: Assisting the teacher in classrooms
- Office: Data entry, social media, preparing for new centers, etc.
*Volunteers will not be left in the presence of any child without a Just Like GRAMMY & POPPOP’S team member on hand.
