Top 4 Most Important Features in a Childcare Center

How do you find out what is most important to parents when they leave someone else to care for their child(ren)?

Just ask! It’s important to us at Just Like GRAMMY & POPPOP’S to make sure we are always taking into consideration what parents and team members prefer before making a final decision to start, stop, or continue something. Sure, we often will have something in mind or have an opinion of our own, but… almost all of the time, you won’t see us make a move without carefully considering our partners.

In this case, while we were in the beginning of research, we surveyed some friends and friends of friends to get their opinions. We realize our pool was limited in number, but we think this list is pretty accurate. Let us know in the comments what you think.

Live Feed Cameras for Classrooms were at the top of our list, until…

we heard that a live camera feed is actually one of the least important features of a childcare center to have for their classrooms! Honestly, Grammy and PopPop were of different opinions on this, which we sort of like because it brings some super discussions. I was ready to install them everywhere except for restrooms and our nursing mother room. Being a techie and wanting to be a tech-forward early learning center, it just made sense to me. Nope… there are many other views to that including parents not wanting other parents (and who knows who else with password sharing) viewing their children. So, we’ll talk more about that specifically at another time… I want to share with you the top features people are looking for that we will be focused on at our Pewaukee, Lake Country location.

What we will do at Just Like GRAMMY & POPPOP’S

We are committed to providing top-notch care to children. Period. Keeping them safe is our number one goal. Beyond that, we provide learning opportunities through play with a flexible structure. We are educated and stay in the front-lines to know what it means to be “top-notch” but you better believe we will continue to seek and integrate our parents and team members opinions… always.

This isn’t just the building or rooms, it encompasses the toys, the playground equipment, the art supplies, the materials to explore and learn, everything! Top-Notch quality can’t be forgotten with the food that is served, pest prevention, curriculum/learning materials, books, safe disinfectants, the continuing education of the team, the list goes on.
